My monthly SEO audit workflow

Six tools, one executive-ready report, a prioritised action list the dev team can ship that sprint. The exact workflow I use every month for Signature Cleaning, Bird Dog, and the rest.

An SEO audit that is six dashboards in six tabs is not an audit — it is a homework assignment for the client. My job is to consolidate GA4, Search Console, Screaming Frog, PageSpeed Insights, Semrush, and SE Ranking into a single executive-ready report with a prioritised action list.

The structure

  1. Executive summary — what changed, why, what to do.
  2. Traffic & engagement — GA4 period-over-period.
  3. Visibility — Search Console clicks, impressions, CTR, average position.
  4. Rankings — SE Ranking and Semrush deltas.
  5. Technical — Screaming Frog crawl: titles, metas, schema, indexation, redirects.
  6. Performance — Core Web Vitals from PageSpeed.
  7. Recommendations — prioritised, ticket-ready.

One example from April 2026 (Signature Cleaning): clicks up to 271, impressions ~180K, organic engagement 42.59%, bounce down to 57.41% — but tracked organic form submissions stuck at zero. The number one recommendation that month was not an SEO change at all. It was fix the form-submit event.
